Black Ceramic Sea Urchin

This is a hand thrown ceramic stoneware piece done on a potter's wheel. It has a black underglaze exterior covered in a transparent glaze. Then it is covered in black slip dots with a glossy black interior. The raised dots have an amazing feel and is very tactile. Inspired by actual pictures of sea urchins, it takes me two hours to complete all of the dot work on each urchin. They look great as a decor piece on it's own or with companions. It also looks beautiful full of flowers, a succulent. or small plant in any location or even as a vessel for a drink, but I do recommend using a straw.
